Sodaglass is, very simply, back-painted glass. Our specifically-formulated paint is sprayed on, baked and then sealed.
The Glass used is optically clear, low-iron glass. The thicknesses available are: 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, and 3/4”. Patterned glass can be coated as well. It comes annealed, but can easily be tempered or laminated, depending on the application. Sheet size is 84" x 130" so most jobs can be done with minimum seams.
The Colors are endless; Sodaglass colors are matched to the clients needs. We use the Benjamin Moore color library as a default, but all major-brand paint codes can be matched. Custom computer matching is also available. Above and beyond the variety, the colors can be metallic or pearlescent for effect.
Attachment: Sodaglass is typically glued to a finished substrate such as drywall, plywood or cement board. It can also be attached using stand-offs, U-Channels, or any type of fastener or frame.
Fabrication: Sodaglass comes in sheets of 84" x 130". It can be cut to any size and shape. Holes can be cut or drilled for outlets, plumbing fixtures, sinks, etc. There are few limitations.
